Theme: Be Ye Thankful
Text: 1Thess.5:12-22
M.V:1Thess.5:18
Introduction
Thankfulness is synonymous with gratefulness. It is a state of the heart expressed through words or actions in acknowledgement to God or man for what has been done, or promised to be done. It is a virtue required of people, especially believers. Jesus, in several occasions taught his disciples to be thankful. However, it is observed that in most occasions, some do not display this Christian virtue. May be, they felt what God has done is not too important or perhaps, the ones they expected God to do has not been done yet. Thus, they forgot that thanking God for the ones he has done attracts further blessings. A case in point is the story of the Ten (10) who were healed by Jesus (Luke 17:1ff). It is discovered that only one person came back to thank Him. May God open our eyes as we study.
