Both 1st and 2ndletters serve as a blue print on how a minister (child of God) ought to conduct his/her life, and of course, leadership/administration of the church of God, family and in other spheres of life. In his first letter to Timothy, Paul writes to remind him of his objective in keeping him an overseer of the Church in Ephesus, which was to squelch (quickly put to an end) the false teachings prevalent at that time, and to nurture the congregation with godly teachings.
